Q: How does the Propane Hammer work?
A:
The Propane hammer operates off of a standard 14 oz. propane tank and functions off of internal combustion.  This unit is 100 self contained and does not require an air compressor or hydraulic unit.

Q: How many posts can I drive off of 1 standard 14oz. propane tank?
A:
This will obviously depend on the type of post or stake and also the type of ground or soil you are driving into.

  • We use the following example to best explain the capacity of 1 standard 14 oz. propane tank. Ex. You can drive approximately 200 standard posts using a 14 oz. propane tank. That is equal to approximately 6000 repetitions or 30 hits per post.  

Q: What types of posts / stakes can I drive with the Tippmann Propane Hammer?

The Tippmann Propane Hammer will drive the following types and sizes of posts.

  • T posts
  • Ground rod
  • Tent stakes
  • Concrete form pins
  • Tree stakes
  • Silt fence posts

A:
The Propane Hammer is capable of driving posts or stakes into almost any ground composition or condition. The different types of conditions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Hard ground
  • Dry ground
  • Frozen ground
  • Sand Stone
  • Asphalt
  • Sand
  • Clay
